Calling All Dreamers

Good morning lovely people,

I’m coming to you live from Indianapolis, here on the Westside, at my job, at my desk…Yep, it’s as boring as it sounds, lol. Such a shame that I’m here in the middle of my work day, daydreaming about what I want to be when I grow up. Yes, never mind the fact that I’m 41 years old, I have two almost adult children, I’ve been married and divorced, and I work a full-time job as a pharmacy technician. But that’s not my dream job, I mean it pays the bills, barely, but I have a dream of being my own boss one day. Seriously, I know that sounds like most Americans, but really folks, I think I deserve it after all of these years. I mean considering that I didn’t finish college and I’ve been a single mom for years before I got married. I have worked hard all my adult life starting at 14 and I’ve been in so many different lines of work I can’t even count all of the jobs I’ve had. I mean I could try but it would be hilarious and a bit embarrassing. Too bad I couldn’t get college credit for every different job I’ve had. I’ve worked as a waitress, in clothing stores, in hospitals, in drugstores, in the manufacturing field (making airplane engines and the automobile industry believe or not). I mean, I’m not flighty or unable to hold down a job, but I’m a jack-of-all-trades, really, if you teach me something once, I’ll pick it up quickly and I’ll be the best at it. But, with being a single mom for so many years, I went wherever the best paying job with the best health insurance would have me.

So with that being said, I’ve learned over the years, that I’m very creative and I can learn just about anything. I would like to take that gift and use it to my own advantage. I love baking, sewing, and quilting, and I would love to own my own rustic little shop where I can do all of these things all day and get paid for it. Sounds great!!! One day, I’ll make it happen. Don’t mind me, just rambling on, hoping and wishing, and dreaming.

You all have a great day,

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:9, 10 ESV)

A Peek Into The Life

Howdy folks!!

Well, yes I’m making progress on my pinwheel quilt. I made an executive decision to go with the gray and I think I made the right choice. What do you think?

I’m kinda loving the gray!!!

So meanwhile I haven’t heard anything back about my promotion, but….if I don’t get it. I know that The Lord has bigger and better plans for me and my family.

So here I am, here at work on break and getting through the daily routine of sitting at my computer and helping to make people’s lives a little more comfortable by doing my job accurately and proficiently. Hey, I’m doing my part no matter how great or small. But let me share with you what helps get me through the day. I have my wonderful IPhone and I listen to music, books, the Bible, and sermons all day. I listen to a wide variety of music, from Needtobreathe, Cee Lo Green, Jason Mraz, Fun., Miranda Lambert, Pink, Adele, Beyonce, Dixie Chicks, Amos Lee, Punch Brothers, Third Day, Josh Turner, Queen, and everyone in between, all with my Rhapsody app. I LOVE music!!

As far as my book selection that I listen to with my app; I love anything from Francine Rivers. I love Christian fiction, classics, and Ancient Greek and Roman history, as it pertains to Christian history.

I listen to the Bible on my YouVersion app and I listen to sermons from my local church at Lakeview and I adore listening to sermons from John McArthur in California, with my GracetoYou app.

So, yep, you guessed it, I would be lost without my phone during the day. And you might think it would distract me, but no, it actually makes me more productive!

Then, by the time I clock out for the day it’s all about my kids. I LOVE those girls like, like, well, I don’t what to compare it to. They’re only second to my love of The Lord. Not to get all mushy😘
And you’ll read about them in future posts and I’ll talk about them like they’re little kids, but they’re taller than me and almost grown, 14 & 21. Yeah that 21 year old is not grown until she finishes college and is on her own.

So that’s my day for the most part and then I try to throw some baking, sewing, and quilting in there, hahaha…to the best of my superhuman abilities

Good morning and god bless

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22, 23 ESV)

Let the Blogging begin

So, what is this whole blogging thing about? I was totally disinterested in blogging, basically because I didn’t know anything about it. My daughter has been following fashion bloggers for quite some time, but I didn’t understand all of the hoopla…Until I started getting interested in sewing and quilting and I started following bloggers to get ideas and tutorials from bloggers. And I’ve been sold on the whole blogging concept. It’s a pretty cool thing. I’ve noticed some trends with most bloggers that I follow, so I don’t know if I would fit into the stereotypical blogging genre. So let’s see, most bloggers that I follow, I’ve noticed are; stay at home moms, full-time bloggers, that have some type of product to sale. Here’s the deal with me. I am a full-time pharmacy tech at a local pharmacy, where I sale my cakes and cakes-in-a-jar, to my wonderful coworkers. I work from 40-50 hours per week, so my cakes are done on the weekends. I just started sewing and quilting also and I also throw that into my weekends as well. I spend most of my free time with my children. So, between work, my kids, baking, and sewing. I’m hoping I will have time to blog. Along the way I’ll share my interests, my favorite past-times, my outlook on life, and the many things that I’ve learned and will to continue to learn over the years.

Things that pique my interests:
1. Christian living
2. Raising teens and college kids
3. Baking
4. Sewing/Quilting
5. Small business ownership
6. Travel
7. Art
8. Music (R&B, country, 80’s, 90’s pop, gospel, classical)
9. Books (Christian fiction, classics, European history)
10. Life after divorce

Romans 1:16,17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
